Fort Students and Families, August 31, 2021
Select staff is back in the building this week to continue preparing for SY2021-22. We are eager to welcome all students and staff back to full in-person learning. The first day of classes for students is September 13th.
We understand that many have safety concerns related to the pandemic. We want everyone to be secure to learn. We have a strong team to provide the safety measures outlined by the DOE and I’ll host a virtual FHHS Reopening Info Night on September 9 at 6pm to share details. As space is limited, families need to register
In short, we are arranging rooms and relocating furniture to provide 3 feet social distancing in classrooms and multiple locations for lunch. This is in addition to the mandated measures that include daily health screening with random temperature checks, masks worn to cover nose and mouth, and regular testing. All staff are required to be vaccinated with the first dose no later than September 27th. We encourage students to be vaccinated as well, as this is proven to be the most effective in preventing the spread and/or serious illness. Please download the Health Screening app on your phone for ease in entering the building daily. In addition, make sure to complete the consent for covid testing. You can access the form on the Health Screening app or go to NYC school account (see link below if you need to create an account).
New students and families can now create a Pupilpath account. Please see directions on our website to register for a Fort Hamilton HS account on Pupilpath.
Orientation will be held on both September 1 and September 2 at 9am for NEW students or rising 10th graders who wish to attend. A tour of the building, meeting staff and peers, and taking a photo for an FHHS ID card are top agenda items. Please register
A reminder that students can pick up metrocards from 9am to 2pm on both September 9 and 10. New or replacement ID cards can also be obtained during this time.
Class schedules will be available on Pupilpath at 3pm on Friday, September 10. This will allow students to know their session for Monday, September 13. Completing
